North West Essex is the new name for what was previously known as the Saffron Walden parliamentary constituency, and covers most of the Uttlesford district of Essex and parts of Chelmsford. It includes the towns of Saffron Walden, Great Dunmow and Stansted Mountfitchet and the surrounding villages.

North West Essex Constituency Labour Party is the local party for members who live in the district, and there are currently over 500 of us.

The local party is responsible for selecting Labour’s parliamentary candidate for general elections, and candidates for county, district and parish councillor candidates for areas within the constituency.  We also organise local and general election campaigns within the constituency. Outside of election time, we hold meetings to discuss current issues, formulate local policy and express the party’s view on issues that effect our local area.

We have an executive committee who together make decisions and run events for the local party – and we are always looking for people to help out, so please do get in touch.
